Zainab’s Story

Meet Zainab who recently received her DelAgua stove. She lives in Patifu-mayawah.

“Before receiving the DelAgua stove, collecting firewood was a big challenge, we used to spend 3- 4 hours walking long distances to collect firewood and that firewood would only last 3 days.”

“Now we spend 1 – 2 hours collecting firewood because the stove uses small pieces of wood, which are easier to find, compared to the big logs we used to cook previously. The wood we collect can last up to 7 days, meaning we only go out to collect firewood once a week.”

“A lot has changed for my family and I since receiving the stove. We save a lot more time when cooking and when collecting firewood.”

“The stove is potable, and it is very easy to use during the rainy season; we place it at the doorways to cook when it rains, and our house is not filled with smoke.” Zainab
